Jorji Siegmundt, a graduate of PLNU, obtained her master’s degree from the university’s graduate biology program in 2021. Upon graduation, she assumed the role of Chemistry Department Lab Manager and faculty instructor for general chemistry labs. Additionally, she serves on the university’s safety committee and holds the position of campus Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO). Prior to her academic pursuits, Siegmundt worked for the US Navy as a Nuclear Engineering Laboratory Technician, where she specialized in nuclear chemistry and radiation. Upon becoming a mom in 2007, she chose to stay home with her kids until going back to complete her undergraduate degree in 2018.
When Siegmundt was a student, she served as the secretary for the university’s Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter. While working at PLNU, she continued her SVA service as an advisor for the chapter and remains committed to advocating for military-affiliated students. In 2022, she was honored to receive a Hero for Heroes award nominated and presented by student veterans or active-duty military personnel. This award recognizes university staff or faculty who have made a significant positive impact on their time at PLNU.
