M.A. Writing Student Anna Wang Takes Second Place in Prestigious William Faulkner Literary Competition

Anna Wang was awarded Second Place in the William Faulkner Literary Competition for her short story “My Nephew, My Vacuous Nephew.” The award ceremony was held on September 26 2025, the day after William Faulkner’s birthday, in his hometown of New  Albany,  Mississippi.

Anna flew to Mississippi to accept the prestigious prize and take part in the ceremony. Accompanying the announcement were local reports by the New Albany Gazette covering the competition and winners. Read more about the competition from the New Albany Gazette HERE
