February 9, 2026 – This afternoon, undergraduate students received a message regarding a joint collaboration between the Associated Student Body (ASB) Board of Directors and university leadership to review and update several student-related policies.
Over the course of the spring semester, the ASB Board and university leadership will evaluate and revise policies that guide how student-led initiatives are formed and supported at PLNU. This includes policies related to clubs, club sports, and other areas of student life, with the goal of ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with broader university guidelines. This review is intended to bring clarity, consistency, and alignment with broader university guidelines, while also strengthening the structures that support student life and engagement.
To allow this process to take place with the attention it deserves, the review of student club applications has been temporarily paused. Updated policies are expected to be finalized by the end of this semester, and the application process is anticipated to reopen following the summer break.
I’m grateful for the ASB Board’s willingness to engage this work in a spirit of partnership and discernment. Their openness to collaboration reflects the strength of shared governance and the value of student leadership within our university.
In grace and truth,
