WCBSURC welcomes original undergraduate research presentations across the biological sciences, including biology, biochemistry, biophysics, environmental science, neuroscience, marine biology, and related disciplines.
Students may indicate a preference for either an oral or poster presentation when submitting their abstract. Final presentation assignments will be determined by the conference review committee based on the quality and content of submissions, scheduling, and available presentation space.

Please have your abstract and required information ready before beginning your submission.
Eligibility
The presenting author must be an undergraduate student. Co-authors can include fellow students, faculty, or research advisors.
Research must have been conducted under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
Faculty mentors must approve submission of the research project prior to abstract submission.
Abstract Requirements
Length
Abstracts should be 250–300 words maximum. Abstracts exceeding the maximum word count may not be reviewed.
Required Components
Abstracts should clearly address the following:
- Introduction
- Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
Information Required
Students will be asked to provide:
- Presentation title
- Presenting author
- Institution
- Faculty mentor
- Co-authors, if applicable
- Preferred presentation type (oral or poster)
- Abstract text

Review Process
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the WCBSURC planning committee.
Students will receive notification regarding the status of their submission and their assigned presentation format following the review process. While students may indicate a preference for an oral or poster presentation, the final presentation format will be determined by the conference committee based on scheduling and availability.
