To inspire and empower the SHAPE community to practice lifelong excellence in critical thinking, artistic expression, effective communication, and Christlike service.

SHAPE Vision 

The School of Humanities, Arts, and Public Engagement (SHAPE) is the home for a variety of academic programs and GE courses. In our school, we encourage rigorous intellectual exploration, prepare students for life after Loma, and ground everything in our faith.

Academic Excellence

SHAPE provides students with a carefully designed, high-quality academic experience which promotes both didactic and experiential learning opportunities. With our distinguished and excellent faculty members and our wide range of degree and course offerings, students have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics in a way that both challenges and inspires them. Students are also encouraged to apply what they have learned through a variety of co-curricular activities such as internships, concerts, service learning, performances, research conferences, shows, study abroad, exhibits, honor societies, clubs, and more.

Diversity and Inclusion

SHAPE views diversity as foundational to the learning experience. Across the readings assigned, pieces performed, classroom conversations, and relationships formed, students learn from

diverse perspectives, deepen their curiosity, and cultivate empathy and care for others. The result is a learning environment characterized by inclusivity.
