Jacob has served as a Resident Assistant (RA) in Young Hall for three years, where he focuses on fostering a safe and welcoming environment through intentional programming and student support. Alongside his work in Residential Life, he has been involved with ASB’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) for three years, helping plan campus-wide events that promote connection and belonging. Notably, he played a key role in expanding the annual surf film premiere, Sunset Clips Classic, which combined music, original student artwork, and surf culture.
Academically, Jacob maintains a 3.977 GPA. He has participated in environmental research with the Naval Information Warfare Center and is currently interning at Saab as a mechanical engineering intern, working on autonomous boat systems. In order to fight malnutrition and food insecurity, Jacob's senior project involves leading an engineering team to fabricate an inflatable solar crop dryer for rural farmers in Chisec, Guatemala.
Jacob’s leadership is grounded in his Christian faith. He is actively involved at College Avenue Church, where he volunteers as a Sunday school teacher for four- and five-year-olds.
Outside of academics, Jacob is an avid surfer with an interest in surf history from the 1960s and 1970s. His hobbies include cooking, playing sports, and pottery. He is passionate about the ocean, learning, and building community.
