Meet an Alumni Scholarship Recipient

Get to know one of our Alumni Endowed Scholarship recipients!

Dear Point Loma Nazarene University Alumni,

I am writing this letter as a sincere thank you for your generosity. I feel so blessed that I was chosen as a recipient for your scholarship. Your generous scholarship has made my continued education at Point Loma Nazarene University possible.

Because of various financial dilemmas, my parents are unable to contribute to my college education. Fees for tuition, housing, food, books etc. are solely my reponsibility. During my freshman year at PLNU, finances were all I could think about. I was so stressed and worried because at the age of 18 I was already thousands of dollars in debt. Over the past years I have learned that there is no reason to worry. I know that God has placed me at Point Loma Nazarene University for a reason, and I know that He will provide. I feel that God has answered my prayers through your contribution, and I want to thank you so much for that.

My ultimate goal is to become a missionary doctor in Africa or assit in underserved areas of the United States. Because I will be helping people in the future, I think it is so important that I receive a faith-based education. I want to be able to incorporate my beliefs in God with my career as a doctor. Point Loma Nazarene University has laid the foundation I need to guide me in the right direction. The faculty, students and atmosphere offered at Point Loma are difficult to find anywhere else, and I am so blessed to have the opportunity to be here. I think about the many kids in the world that risk their life everyday for an education like mine, and I am so thankful that I can attend such an outstanding university. I am fortunate that God has placed people like you in my life to assist me while I study at Point Loma.

I cannot thank you enough for your scholarship and I hope someday I will be able to meet you in person to express my gratitutde.

Sincerely,

Brad
