MSN Program

Point Loma Nazarene University School of Nursing was the the first San Diego-area nursing school to offer an MSN program with the Nursing Education emphasis.  We are committed to preparing nurses for leadership roles in both the clinical and academic settings.

Students have two entry points:

RN Entry:
The ADN or diploma prepared registered nurse who is interested in an advanced nursing practice will complete three transition courses in the spring and summer semesters.  These students will become part of the MSN cohort in the fall and continue in the MSN course progression for the rest of the program.  As a full-time student, the program can be completed in two-and-a-half years.  Clinical Nurse Specialist tracks are available. A BSN degree is not granted.  Applicants must have at least one year of full-time nursing experience in a United States healthcare facility.

BSN Entry:
A BSN-prepared registered nurse will begin the MSN program in the fall semester.  As a full-time student, the program can be completed in two years.  Clinical Nurse Specialist tracks are available. Applicants must have at least one year of full-time nursing experience in a United States healthcare facility.
