Student Veterans of America at PLNU

The Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter at Point Loma Nazarene University supports and connects student veterans, military-affiliated students, and allies through community, advocacy, and shared experiences.

PLNU’s SVA chapter is part of a national network of more than 1,500 chapters across all 50 states, dedicated to empowering military-connected students in higher education and professional development.

Who We Are

The PLNU Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter builds a strong, inclusive community for:

  • Student veterans
  • Active-duty and reserve service members
  • Military-affiliated students
  • Non-military-affiliated students who wish to support and engage

Our mission is to empower student veterans and service members through advocacy for educational and professional development, reinforcement in faith, and community involvement. Through connection, programming, and campus engagement, SVA fosters meaningful relationships and cultivates a community of leaders who can depend on one another.

How to Get Involved

Current students are automatically enrolled in a myPLNU group based on their military affiliation.

myPLNU is a campus platform where students can:

  • Communicate with peers and staff
  • Receive updates about SVA events and activities
  • Stay informed about important campus information

No additional sign-up is required.

Student Veterans of America (SVA) is a national organization that provides a network of support to student veterans. The organization advocates for veteran-friendly policies and programs, offering resources and leadership opportunities. Many universities across the country host SVA chapters.
