External Relations

The work of External Relations entails a consolidation of the responsibilities of University Advancement and the work of External Affairs.

This is a growing trend in higher education – a broadening base of relationships emphasizes the need to have a more coordinated effort with all of the university’s external constituents.

The Vice President for External Relations is Dr. Joe Watkins.

“For over a century, Point Loma Nazarene University has been blessed by God with great friends who have prayed, given, and labored to secure the future of the university. I am looking forward to working with them and the university leadership team to secure the next 100 years of the university.” - Dr. Joe Watkins, Vice President of External Relations

The offices Dr. Watkins oversees include:

Alumni Relations

There are more than 36,000 PLNU alumni worldwide. They are making a difference with your balanced and forward-thinking approach to the complex issues facing the world today. They are serving, innovating, and leading in so many areas.
