Earn your Master of Science in Kinesiology (MS-KIN) through PLNU’s accelerated program in just one year. The program offers a flexible course load suited to your professional and academic goals, giving you the tools you need to pursue your calling in the dynamic and growing fields of applied exercise physiology, human performance, and health interventions in clinical and non-clinical populations.
As part of the program, you’ll choose from one of four concentrations to further specialize your education: Biomechanics, Sport Science, Clinical Exercise Physiology, or Strength and Conditioning. Each is designed to equip you with in-depth expertise and practical experience aligned with your career path.
Program Concentrations
The curriculum for each of the concentrations within the MS-KIN intentionally aligns with national guild standards of industry-leading organizations.
- The Clinical Exercise Physiology curriculum is aligned with the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
- The Strength and Conditioning concentration is aligned with the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) standards in preparing students to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
- The Sport Science concentration aligns with the NSCA’s standards for the growing field of sport and prepares students to sit for the Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) credential.
- The Biomechanics concentration aligns with the knowledge, skills, and aims of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS) as well as prepares students to sit for the NCSA’s CPSS credential.
- The Sport Management concentration is aligned with the standards of the North American Society for Sport Management.
