Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance Chapter 35

Chapter 35 Rates For Survivors And Dependents | Veterans Affairs

Used by eligible dependents of veterans rated totally and permanently disabled.

What it pays

  • Monthly education stipend paid to you

  • Payment varies by enrollment and program

Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)

Used by students pursuing military leadership training.

How it Works

  • Enroll at PLNU
  • Participate at a partner campus

Active duty service members in Accelerated Undergraduate (AUG) programs receive a flat rate of $250 per unit.

VA Work Study

  • Hourly wages paid by the VA

What to expect

  • Hours capped per term
  • Work related to veteran services

Tuition Assistance (TA) for Active Duty Service Members

Tutorial Assistance | Veterans Affairs

Used by active duty service members with branch approval.

What it pays

  • Up to $250 per unit
  • Maximum of $4,500 or 18 units per fiscal year

What to expect

  • Must be approved before the term begins
  • Programs must be branch-approved
