Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Key resources and frequent updates for the PLNU Community

At PLNU, we continue to be vigilant and prioritize the health and safety of our students, staff, and faculty. In all policies, we seek to align with CDC guidance for higher education, the U.S. Department of Education, and the CDPH.

This release will serve as the final update regarding COVID-19 as the CDC and CDPH have moved to an endemic model. (Last update: March 5, 2024)

As of March 1, 2024, the CDC has released guidance which consolidates the management of COVID-19 with other respiratory illnesses (like influenza or RSV) and no longer requires a 5-day isolation period following a positive test result.  As such, PLNU is adjusting our community’s approach to managing positive COVID cases.  Students who test positive for COVID will no longer be required to isolate themselves.  They will be asked, as those who are ill with other respiratory illnesses are, to self-isolate, limiting time in public spaces and using a well-fitted mask when around others until they are fever-free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving without the use of medication.  There will no longer be any formal institutional determination or monitoring of return-to-class dates; students will exercise their own best judgment about when to return based on the recommendations listed on this page.

We would like to thank all members of the PLNU community for taking measures to keep everyone safe and healthy!
