The Finance and Investment Society brings together students, faculty, and local business professionals who share a passion for finance and investing.
The club holds numerous networking events that provide opportunities to meet, learn from, and establish relationships with regional finance and investment professionals. Guests represent diverse areas of the field, including financial planning, investment management, corporate finance, commercial banking, residential and commercial real estate, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions. The club also organizes events to promote financial literacy among non-finance students, helping them develop essential skills in budgeting, saving, and investing.
In addition, members have the opportunity to participate in a student-managed investment fund, gaining hands-on experience in market research, portfolio management, and all aspects of investing with real capital. The fund’s primary goal is education, though a spirit of friendly competition exists, and any profits are reinvested in the fund or donated to nonprofit organizations.
