David Kerk, Ph.D.

Professor Emeritus of Biology

Dr. David Kerk was a Faculty Member during 1992 to 2009, Department Chair from 2000 to 2003, and retired as a Full Professor. He currently resides on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.

Dr. Kerk participated in the Biology Department’s Summer Undergraduate Research Program for many years, with several years of external support from the National Science Foundation.  His major topic of research was the Evolution of Protein Phosphatase Genes and Proteins.  From 2006 to 2020 he was a Research Associate in Bioinformatics, in the laboratory of Dr. Greg Moorhead, for the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary (Calgary, AB, Canada).
