Loma Fund
The Loma Fund
Did you know?
Today, more than 90% of PLNU students receive some form of financial aid and more than $16,000 is the average financial need across the PLNU community. Without scholarships, many of these students wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend PLNU.
What is the Loma Fund?
The Loma Fund provides students with the opportunity to grow spiritually, academically, and personally. Our treasured contributors to the Loma Fund have the opportunity to choose from three specific categories with which to aid students: formation, scholarships, and living.
Loma Fund: Formation
PLNU is more than a university — it’s a space where students grow in character, spiritual formation, and belonging. Donations will support the spaces and programs where students are shaped emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. At PLNU, spiritual formation is fostered through weekly chapels, discipleship and small groups, and ministry opportunities. Providing students with these opportunities aid in the mission of developing an environment where students can grow into who God has called them to be.
When you give to the Loma Fund: Formation, 100% of your gift goes to the funding of resources that shape students' lifelong faith and sense of purpose.
Loma Fund: Scholarships
Institutional scholarships at PLNU don’t just make education possible — they foster stability, encouragement, and opportunities for students to thrive. For many students, scholarships alleviate financial need, recognize academic achievement, and give them the resources they need to develop into the leaders of tomorrow.
Your gift to Loma Fund: Scholarships directly empowers students to thrive, learn, and pursue a field of study shaped by their interests and gifts.
Loma Fund: Living
From residence halls to study lounges, from athletic fields to wellness rooms, these spaces create belonging, growth, and transformation. The investments made here will aid in modernizing and maintaining our facilities to allow students to flourish in academics and challenge them to fully become who they are called to be.
Through your gifts to the Loma Fund: Living, we steward the spaces to reflect PLNU’s commitment to a whole-student formation.
Why give?
When you give, you join our community’s shared commitment to walk alongside students and help them to live out their God-given calling.
We recognize there are many different reasons our community members give, and our three new Loma Fund designations reflect that. Whether your life was changed at PLNU, you have a student attending, or you want to play a role in a community authentically rooted in whole-person development, we’re grateful for your continued support.
Whatever your reason is for giving, your gift to the Loma Fund is what makes PLNU more than just a university. Thank you for making it a home.
Endowed Scholarship
Endowed Scholarship
What is an endowed scholarship?
Giving toward an endowed scholarship is a gift that will keep on giving, as each year it will provide new educational opportunities for a succession of carefully selected young men and women. When a gift is made to an endowment, PLNU judiciously invests it so the scholarship can continue for generations — leaving a legacy of giving. A scholarship is set up in the name of the donor, or in the name of a friend or family member the donor chooses to honor.
How do I establish an endowed scholarship?
An endowed scholarship is fully funded once the principal gift reaches $30,000, although more can be given to allow for more scholarships to be awarded to students. If you are not able to fully fund the endowment with a single gift, your pledge to establish the fund may be extended for three years with an initial commitment of $10,000.
As the donor, you may choose to place reasonable restrictions on the selection process. In other words, you may stipulate that the award is given to a student in a particular academic discipline, students attaining a required grade point average, or students demonstrating financial need. Generally, these scholarships are awarded only to continuing students (i.e., sophomores, juniors, or seniors).
If you are interested in establishing an endowed scholarship, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
How can I give to existing endowed scholarships?
We welcome any amount given to increase existing endowed scholarships. Various academic and other departments are responsible for awarding these scholarships, and each department has its own application process and deadline.
If you are interested in adding to an existing scholarship, please view the list of existing endowed scholarships and select one under the department that interests you.
