James Wicks recently co-authored an article entitled "Clarifying Street Culture: Integrating a Diversity of Opinions and Voices" ( Urban Research & Practice, June 2019 ) that, interestingly, began as a Twitter chat using #streetculture on Sept. 8, 2018.
Each writer in the essay, including PLNU Dean of the Arts and Humanities Jim Daichendt, sheds light on the definition and parameters of the often vague term "street culture" so that a common understanding might enable productive cross-disciplinary academic work going forward.
