Point Loma Nazarene University has chosen CITI Program as our training provider for all students, staff, and faculty who intend to submit a research proposal to the IRB. Starting Fall 2020, all researchers are required to submit a CITI Program Completion Certificate with their proposal before a review decision can be rendered.

Each researcher will complete a course that contains the following 6 training modules:
- History and Ethics of Human Subjects Research
- Belmont Report and Its Principles
- Defining Research with Human Subjects
- Informed Consent
- Privacy and Confidentiality
- Students in Research
The course is expected to take approximately 4 hours to complete. Completion certificates are valid for 3 years, after which a refresher course will be required before submitting additional research proposals.
