Dr. Reuben Welch famously taught us that "holiness is not a solo flight." He believed that the Christian life is found in the "common life"—the messy, beautiful, and essential reality that we belong to one another in Christ. In honor of Reuben’s decades of ministry at Point Loma Nazarene University, this fund has been established to support the students of the Welch School of Theology & Christian Ministry (WSTCM) as they prepare to lead communities of grace.
The "We Really Do Need Each Other" Fund provides critical support for students who embody the relational spirit of the WSTCM. From tuition scholarships to developmental opportunities, his fund ensures that financial barriers do not stand in the way of those called to the "common life."
To give to this fund is to celebrate the vulnerability, humor, and profound wisdom Reuben shared with us. Your gift equips a new generation of pastors, scholars, and advocates to step into the world with the same conviction that defined Reuben’s life: that we are simply people who need God, and we are people who really do need each other.
