Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Arizona, relocated to Southern California for college, and have stayed here ever since! Although I love Arizona, I am a Southern California girl at heart. I love the ocean, art and design, doing anything active and outdoors, and adventuring with family and friends. I have also found there to be a strong sense of community in Southern California and I love going to all the community events in the area, from worship nights in local coffee shops to volunteer opportunities to sunset surf sessions. It is truly a special place!
What did you study in college?
I earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies (Education) with an emphasis in Interpersonal Communication and Business and a minor in Biblical Studies from Vanguard University of Southern California.
What was your favorite involvement in college and why?
My favorite involvement in college was leading a Bible study/small group with students on campus. It was such a special time to grow in spending intentional time with each other and cultivating a consistent space for fellowship and community to happen! Whether we were playing sand volleyball, having beach bonfires, mini worship nights, or sharing dinner together, we were able to share our stories, struggles, dreams, and what God was doing to encourage and champion each other through all areas of life! Some of my closest friendships came from that time and we still meet to this day!
What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone looking for their perfect college?
Take time to consider the environment you want to grow in and be shaped by — the people, professors, region, surrounding opportunities, and the community you will be planted in for the next four years. Enjoy each step of the way and know that you will be exactly where you are meant to be! Where you go will equip you, grow you, challenge you, and propel you into a powerful and purposeful life. It is an exciting time so breathe and enjoy the process!
Where's your favorite spot in San Diego for breakfast/brunch?
I actually just moved to San Diego from Orange County so I am enjoying venturing around trying all new spots! I will say that every place I have tried so far has been amazing! There are so many great places to go in SD that you really cannot go wrong!
