The Center is committed to cultivating a culture at PLNU that values and facilitates ongoing professional development and growth.

Our goal is to provide resources and opportunities that teach the skills and strategies that help students become independent and active learners while promoting academic and personal success.
Office of Instructional Technology
Point Loma Nazarene University’s Office of Instructional Technology (OIT) exists to nurture technology literacy among faculty so they can implement appropriate uses of technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at PLNU. Our vision is to provide excellent training and consultation services for faculty using both classroom and online instructional technologies.
Loma Writing Center
The Loma Writing Center exists to help all members of the PLNU community cultivate transferable writing skills to engage their academic, professional, personal, and spiritual communities. We work toward this goal by conducting one-on-one consultation sessions, supporting writing education across the PLNU community, and participating in ongoing writing center research.

State authorization is a formal determination that PLNU is approved to conduct educational activities regulated by that state or U.S. Territory. PLNU is not required to obtain state authorization in every state or U.S. Territory, and the university has opted at this time not to seek authorization in certain states and U.S. Territories. Additionally, PLNU meets the criteria for exemption from authorization in certain states. Authorizations in specific states may change periodically.
The Office of Educational Effectiveness serves all university programs and services in assessment planning and evaluation of progress toward learning and performance outcomes by informing educational quality assurance processes.
