French, minor

Program Overview

Do you have a passion for learning new languages and exploring diverse cultures? If so, learning how to speak, read, and write French as well as diving into the nuances of this fascinating universal culture might be just the right minor for you.

Multiple language fluency will prepare you to participate effectively in a multilingual global society. A minor in French is offered to those who wish to complement study in another discipline. Coursework can only approximate a bilingual setting and does not necessarily guarantee appropriate language proficiency. Therefore, students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the target language and complete more than the minimum number of language classes.

“Le programme de Français vous souhaite la Bienvenue à notre université."

Alain Lescart, Ph.D., Professor of French & Literature

Spotlight

Alain Lescart, Ph.D.

Dr. Alain Lescart, professor of French, wants you to know he used to breed French cats. That statement alone may seem odd, but not when you read it in context of knowing the man himself. Saying that Lescart is a jack-of-all-trades is putting it lightly. He might just be a full-blown renaissance man.
