Since 2019, PLNU has been working with the San Diego Padres as a “mobile lab” in biomechanically assessing their players. In 2023, the partnership was solidified when we open our doors to our permanent home at the Balboa Regional Campus. The biomechanics lab provides the Padres organization with a cutting-edge facility in close proximity to Petco Park.
“As much as anything, it’s about having (Dr. Aguinaldo) in the program and involved,” said Josh Stein, who oversees the Padres’ sports science initiatives. “We could have built this at Petco, we could have built this in (the club’s spring training home in Arizona).
