Dr. Son Chae Kim returned to Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in August of 2019. Prior to that, she taught at Texas State University and was also at PLNU from 2005-2013. As an author and original developer of the Aggressive Behavior Risk Assessment Tool (ABRAT), she has conducted a number of research studies related to identifying potentially violent patients in both acute care hospitals and long-term care homes in the U.S. and in Canada. She is also an author of the Kim Alliance Scale (KAS) that measures the quality of the patient-provider relationship. Currently, she teaches classes in the DNP program. As a Christian educator, she is grateful for the opportunity to teach at PLNU. In her spare time, she loves to work in the garden.
