Amy Zheng M.D., M.Phil, CHSE

Medical Director, Physician Assistant Program

Dr. Zheng is a passionate teacher with a dedication for teaching teamwork among healthcare professionals. After graduating from medical school at UCSD, she completed an emergency medicine residency at the U. of Arizona. After moving back to San Diego, she worked for the VA Medical Center and taught interprofessional education at the UCSD medical school. For eight years, she chaired one of the largest teamwork exercises in the country. She left clinical work at the VA in 2014 to work for the VA Office of Inspector General where she published 31 government reports on the quality of care at the VA. She has briefed members of Congress on her findings. She now works at Sharp Urgent Care and teaches PA students at PNLU.
