They also have three grandchildren.  Both Dr. Jacobson and his wife are pursuing doctoral degrees.  Dr. Jacobson is working on his Doctor of Ministry degree, while Kimberly is working on her Doctor of Education degree.  Both are attending Liberty University for their studies.

Dr. Jacobson served on active duty in the US Air Force until October 2014 and as an Air Force civil servant until August of 2015, when he retired after nearly 26 years of service between officer, enlisted and civilian assignments. Dr. Jacobson has been stationed in several states in the continental US, as well as overseas in Afghanistan, Germany, and Hawaii.
