G. James Daichendt, Ed.D. serves as Professor of Art History and Dean of the Colleges at Point Loma Nazarene University. He contributes regular arts journalism and criticism for The San Diego Union-Tribune and KCET Artbound in Los Angeles. He also serves as Chief Editor of the academic journal Visual Inquiry: Learning and Teaching Art and is the author of six books: The Urban Canvas: Street Around the World; Kenny Scharf: In Absence of Myth; Shepard Fairey Inc., Artist/Professional/Vandal; Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art; Artist-Teacher: A Philosophy for Creating and Teaching; and Artist Scholar: Reflections on Writing and Research. Jim holds a doctorate from Columbia University and graduate degrees from Harvard and Boston universities.
