Katie Manning, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Writing

Dr. Katie Manning is a PLNU alumna who joined the faculty full time in 2015. She teaches a variety of writing and literature courses, specializing in poetry and women writers, with intersecting interests in linguistics, 19th century British literature, and 20th – 21st century American literature.

Manning is the author of four poetry chapbooks, and her first full-length poetry collection, Tasty Other, won the 2016 Main Street Rag Poetry Book Award. She has received The Nassau Review Author Award for Poetry, and her writing has been published in Fairy Tale Review, New Letters, Poet Lore, So to Speak, Verse Daily, and many other journals and anthologies. She is the founding editor-in-chief of Whale Road Review: A Journal of Poetry & Short Prose.
