As a new decade began, so did a new chapter in the story that would eventually become Point Loma Nazarene University. In 1910, the college purchased the Hugus Ranch property and relocated just east of Pasadena, creating a new home where its growing community could learn, build relationships, and prepare for lives of purpose and service.
Life on campus looked quite different from the PLNU experience students know today. Tuition was just $20 per semester, while room and board cost $4.75 per week. Yet beyond those differences, something familiar was already taking shape: A community united by faith, education, and a shared calling to make a difference in the world.
