PLNU Earns ABET Accreditation for Engineering Program

On left side, an orange outlined circle sits above the copy 'ABET.' While on the right side beside a line drawn in the middle is the copy 'Engineering Accreditation Commission.'

This prestigious accreditation affirms that PLNU’s engineering program meets the highest standards of academic excellence and professional preparation, equipping graduates to enter the global STEM workforce with confidence and purpose. The ABET review process ensures that programs meet quality standards essential for producing graduates ready to lead in innovation, safety, and public welfare across industries.

"This is a significant milestone that reflects the excellence of our faculty, the strength of our curriculum, and the deep commitment we have to our students' futures," said Maria Zack, Ph.D., Associate Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at PLNU. “We design our programs not only to be academically rigorous but also deeply personal, rooted in mentorship, faith, and a sense of calling.”

The accreditation was granted with retroactive approval, covering graduates from October 2022 onward, meaning recent alumni will also benefit from the doors this accreditation opens, including increased eligibility for global job opportunities, industry licensure, and graduate study.

For PLNU, this achievement represents more than just an accreditation. It’s a reflection of our broader mission: to help students fully become who they are called to be. Engineering students at PLNU learn not only how to solve complex technical problems but also how to do so with character, compassion, and an awareness of their impact on the world.
