Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with San Diego Wave FC, a premier National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) organization competing at the highest level of women’s professional soccer.
Through this innovative collaboration, San Diego Wave FC players will receive comprehensive performance and biomechanics analysis and professional support benefits from PLNU’s College of Health Sciences. At the same time, PLNU students will gain hands-on experiential learning opportunities within a professional sports organization that will bridge classroom training into real-world application.
In addition to performance collaboration, PLNU students have the opportunity to earn academic credit while serving as interns with San Diego Wave FC. Internship placements are available across multiple disciplines, including sport science, strength and conditioning, athletic training, dietetics, marketing, brand and content, community engagement, ticketing and sponsorship sales, facilities and operations, fan engagement, business intelligence, and information technology.
