Disability Studies Certificate

Disability Studies Certificate

Program Overview

The Disability Studies Certificate creates a strong foundation for understanding disability as a natural part of the human experience and for examining the barriers that can impact participation in education, employment, healthcare, and community life.

Students explore how disability is understood and represented across disciplines and learn practical strategies for supporting access, participation, and belonging for people with disabilities.

People with disabilities are, and have always been, part of our shared human community. Developing a deeper understanding of disability and how to create environments where individuals with disabilities can fully participate benefits students in every field of study, including ministry, business, psychology, sociology, political science, the arts, and the sciences. Knowledge gained through this program can be applied across many areas of society such as employment, education, transportation, housing, healthcare, and community life.
