Kristen Snyman, Ph.D, CSCS*D

Dr. Snyman’s (pronounced: snay-mon) completed her MSc under the mentorship of Dr. Lee Brown and her PhD with Dr. Terry Housh. Her research focuses on applied exercise physiology in athletic and clinical applications. She has an interest in neuromuscular adaptations to exercise and biofeedback training, the physiological mediators of the perception of effort during aerobic and resistance training, and environmental physiology.

Jennifer Dyck, BSN, RN

Jennifer Dyck comes to PLNU with 13 years of experience as Adjunct Faculty at Arizona State University. Prior to teaching she has held a variety of positions as staff nurse in teaching hospitals, medical device education, research RN. as well as public health nursing in the Canadian healthcare system. Her background is in NICU, Postpartum, research and public health. She currently teaches in the undergraduate nursing program.

Kelly Duggan Shearer, Ph.D., LMFT, LPCC

Dr. Kelly Duggan Shearer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has a Ph.D. in Systems, Families and Couples from Loma Linda University and her expertise is in relational teaching practices in MFT and Counselor education. Dr. Duggan Shearer has been teaching, training and supervising since 2011, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor since 2018 and a Person of the Therapist (POTT) trainer since 2021.

Taera Felkins, MS, PA-C

Taera Felkins is a certified physician assistant who currently works as a clinician in the urgent care setting but has also served in both community health and emergency department settings.  She and her husband lead a medical missions trip each year through Fundación La Red, a Christian nonprofit organization in El Salvador, whose mission is to Love God and Serve others.  Outside of work you will find her at the beach swapping surf sessions with her husband and playing in the sand with her 4 year old daughter.
