PLNU’s Center for Justice and Reconciliation wins federal women and girls human trafficking award
Taera Felkins is a certified physician assistant who currently works as a clinician in the urgent care setting but has also served in both community health and emergency department settings. She and her husband lead a medical missions trip each year through Fundación La Red, a Christian nonprofit organization in El Salvador, whose mission is to Love God and Serve others. Outside of work you will find her at the beach swapping surf sessions with her husband and playing in the sand with her 4 year old daughter.
Guimel Sibingo is an Angolan-Portuguese journalist and writer. Her academic and professional background spans a range of journalism disciplines, with a particular emphasis on radio and multimedia storytelling.
Gloria was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, after which she pursued further education, including a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics and Food Administration with a minor in Hospitality Management, a Master's degree in Nutrition Education, a dietetic internship, a School Nutrition Specialist certification, and a certificate in Nutritional Psychology. Her 23 years of professional experience include various positions in foodservice, nutrition, and education.
Heather has practiced as an occupational therapist for over 15 years. Clinically, Professor Distelrath has practiced in adult acute care, inpatient rehab, community based traumatic brain injury as a Brain Injury Specialist, home health in a rural setting, outpatient pediatrics and school-based occupational therapy. She has previously served as a level 1 clinical instructor and a new graduate mentor. Her professional interests include palliative care, primary care and health care delivery systems. Personally, Prof.
Dr. Braedon Worman joined the Communication Studies Department in 2024. Prior to arriving at PLNU, Dr. Worman taught at Fresno Pacific University as well as several community colleges in Central California. He loves to show students the link between the quality of one’s communication and the quality of one’s life. Dr. Worman earned his B.A. in Communication, B.A. in Philosophy-Religious Studies, and M.A. in Communication from CSU Fresno (Fresno State). He earned his Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
