Events for Families
This is a unique opportunity for your family to get a firsthand look at your student's PLNU experience. Attend chapel and maybe even a class alongside your student; get a historical tour of campus; commune with friends and other parents in the cafeteria; and attend some Sea Lion games, a concert, and informational seminars.
Immerse yourself in the history and spirit of PLNU. Homecoming hosts more than 50 events on campus, so there are plenty of ways to reconnect or connect for the first time.
It’s the moment many parents anticipate with mixed emotion. Watch with pride as your student’s hard work pays off and a formative chapter of his or her life comes to a celebratory close. Save a seat at graduation.

Send Your Student a Cake or Treat!

The Parent Portal
Your portal is the best way to do business with the university. Once logged in, you will be able to update information releases, access your student’s account, and manage tuition payments and aid.
Getting Access to Your Parent Portal and Information
Part 1: Obtaining the Parent ID Number
Have your student log into his or her portal.
Click the Students tab.
Under Profile Update, click on Update Information Releases.
Make sure your names are added under the desired categories (Financial Info, Academic Info — on request, Health Information, or Other Personal Info).
If your names are not already listed, click the Edit button, select your names, and save the changes.
Next to your names should be a six-digit number (it should look like "###### - Parent"). That number is your parent ID number. Write it down.
Part 2: Creating the Account
Without being logged in, click Create Account on the left sidebar of my.pointloma.edu.
Follow the directions to complete setting up a portal account. Make sure to use the parent ID for the ID number.

Your Student’s Wellness
Once your student is on campus, he or she will have access to health and wellness services and resources, such as counseling.
How to Mail Your Student
To mail your student a letter or package, please include his or her full name (not nickname) and address, including his or her residence hall. It’s also a good idea to get a tracking number on any item of value.

All packages received by mail services are entered into our system. Once we have done this, your student will receive an email stating that he or she has a package. Package pickup is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All letters are delivered Monday through Friday to the residence halls and Flex mailboxes.
Parents of Students with Disabilities
The transition into a university setting can be stressful for any student, but for parents of students with disabilities, unique concerns may also be present. The Disability Resource Center can help make the transition smoother.
