Department of Kinesiology

There is a deeply innate part of human nature that calls us to move. With movement at the core of everything we do, the study of physical action is an area of both fascination and immense benefits.

The Department of Kinesiology provides you with a dynamic environment to explore how to optimize health and physical efficiency through hands-on experience and research. Guided by faculty who inspire you to set transformational personal and professional goals alongside unique and personalized internships or clinical opportunities, you can hit the ground running toward a career that focuses on helping people improve their health.

Opportunities for Engagement

Developing into a world citizen doesn't only happen inside the walls of the classroom — it happens by coming face-to-face with new opportunities, people, places, and ideas. An abundance of internships await that allow you to participate in hospitals and physical therapy centers, observe surgeries, coach or provide athletic training for San Diego's professional and collegiate sports teams, and many more. This real-world experience is strengthened by the ability to network and seek mentorship in the Kinesiology Society's community of current students, alumni, and faculty. Overall, the Department of Kinesiology offers many opportunities for meaningful engagement and personal growth.

Faculty

Our faculty serve as both teachers and mentors, committed to guiding you toward a full and purposeful education. By helping you explore thought-provoking and influential ideas and engage complex and difficult questions, you'll have access to an environment devoted to the pursuit of truth. An education at PLNU is both transformative and meaningful.
